NaaD audiovisual archive
NaaD audiovisual archive is an ongoing cooperative project to collect, document and disseminate audiovisual media that become extinct and endangered in the rapidly developing regions, particularly in the Indian context. With an emphasis in the participatory and community endeavors at recording and archiving locative audiovisual heritage, the process of documentation from transient environments like urbanizing areas and SEZ are collectively organized at NaaD audiovisual archive. The project is contributed and run by locality-based audiovisual practitioners like field recordists, nature recordists, phonographers and environmental sound archivists who keep track of changing audiovisual media from the evaporating natural landscapes; NaaD Collective intends to build an active and continuous media repository for productive and shared archiving to drive preservation and dissemination of audiovisual media, taking initiatives in awareness towards environmental change, by organizing activities in documenting the everyday audiovisual environment in the framework of the project.
NaaD media art collective
NaaD media art collective is an artist led collective to practice audio/new media art in the framework of the activities of NaaD. The emerging group intends to be engaged with creating a platform for other artists, art practitioners and organizations working with audio/new media art in collaboration and cross-over, showcasing, promoting and providing creative spaces for works in audio/new media art.
NaaD AND project: Alter Native Digitality
This project is primarily aimed at creating a repository of digital low-resolution audiovisual content provided by everyday mobile intervention in places, such as photos, videos and sound recorded by smart-phones, PDA’s, and other mobile devices. The intention of the project is to document and creatively disseminate pervasive digital artifacts in order to question mainstream digital media’s constant fascination with higher-resolution audiovisual quality standardized by earlier analogue media. The project would like to emphasis the essential digital quality of AV content contributing to the knowledge and practice of digital aesthetics.
